BGF has appointed Anita Dougall, the co-founder and CEO of Sagacity Solutions, as a non-executive director, enhancing its board with her extensive experience in data intelligence and scaling high-growth businesses. Dougall’s appointment aligns with BGF's strategic initiative to invest £3 billion in British businesses over the next five years, with a focus on technology-led innovation and female-powered firms.

BGF, a leading investment company, has announced the appointment of Anita Dougall as a non-executive director, effective immediately. Dougall brings a wealth of experience as the CEO and co-founder of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence firm established in 2005, which specializes in providing data-driven insights for consumer brands. Her expertise in scaling and leading high-growth businesses is expected to significantly enhance BGF’s board, following the recent addition of Non-Executive Director Rosaleen Blair CME, the founder of AMS Solutions, in 2024.

Dougall’s appointment is particularly timely as she was recently recognized in 2025 by The Independent E2E Forum, where Sagacity Solutions secured the second position among the 100 fastest-growing female-led businesses in the UK. This accolade highlights her proven track record in building and scaling a high-performing, data-centric enterprise. Before founding Sagacity, Dougall held prominent roles in investment banking at NatWest Markets and One2One (now EE), where she spearheaded credit strategy initiatives.

BGF is strategically positioning itself to leverage Dougall’s background in technology and her experience navigating complex regulated sectors, especially as it continues its commitment to digital transformation and AI-driven innovation. This strategic direction is aimed at unlocking value and operational efficiencies across BGF’s extensive portfolio, which consists of over 350 businesses.

Furthermore, Dougall’s appointment comes in conjunction with BGF's ambitious pledge to invest £3 billion in high-potential British businesses over the next five years, with at least £300 million dedicated to female-led enterprises. This initiative aims to empower and support female entrepreneurs, reinforcing BGF’s commitment to diversity and growth within its investments.

As part of this board update, Alice Avis MBE will conclude her tenure as a non-executive director in April 2026, after a decade of service. Dougall’s experience and insights are expected to play a pivotal role as BGF navigates its future endeavors in the investment landscape.
