In a strategic move to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, Tower Peak Partners has announced the appointment of Monika Dangova as its new Head of Sustainability. Based in London, Dangova will be responsible for overseeing the integration of sustainability practices across Tower Peak’s investment portfolios, with a focus on ESG data management and initiatives aimed at enhancing the firm’s environmental and social impact.
Monika Dangova brings a wealth of experience to Tower Peak, having previously served as the Sustainable Finance Lead in KPMG International’s Global Decarbonisation Hub. In that role, she designed a sustainable investing framework for private capital managers that facilitated the launch of climate and energy transition funds compliant with SFDR Article 8 and 9. This framework played a crucial role in the deployment of $50 billion in capital, and it has been recognized as a case study for COP28. Additionally, Dangova has led global initiatives in structured financing for net-zero transitions and collaborated with the World Economic Forum to create public-private partnerships aimed at attracting private investments for transitioning from coal.
Before her tenure at KPMG, Dangova served as the Head of ESG at Plastic Energy, where she focused on developing chemical recycling technologies to tackle plastic waste pollution. Her multifaceted background positions her well to lead Tower Peak's sustainability efforts, particularly as the firm embarks on fundraising for its inaugural private equity fund that is dedicated to sustainable industrial investments across Europe and North America.
The appointment of Dangova aligns with Tower Peak's broader strategy to launch various investment strategies across diverse asset classes, including global industrial infrastructure, natural capital, and social impact investments. Notably, the firm has already initiated its Global Rights & Intellectual Property strategy earlier this year, reflecting its proactive approach in the evolving investment landscape.
As Tower Peak Partners moves forward with these initiatives, the firm anticipates that integrating sustainability into its core investment strategies will not only enhance its competitive edge but also appeal to a growing base of investors who prioritize ESG considerations in their investment decisions.
Moving forward, Tower Peak is expected to finalize its plans and launch its private equity fund in the near future, with specific timelines for fundraising and investment strategy rollout still to be determined. This strategic appointment and the upcoming launch of the fund are likely to impact shareholders positively, as the firm aims to position itself as a leader in sustainable investments, catering to both financial returns and societal impact.
Regulatory considerations will also be significant as Tower Peak navigates the complex landscape of sustainable investing, particularly regarding compliance with international ESG standards and frameworks. The firm's proactive stance in appointing a seasoned expert like Dangova indicates a commitment to addressing these challenges head-on while setting a benchmark in sustainable investment practices.
